Is Julie Olson leaving Days of Our Lives?

We can't imagine Days of Our Lives without Julie! Last week, Julie had a heart attack. She was excited to be able to run Doug's Place alone now that Chloe's not her business partner anymore. But the celebration didn't last long as she had an explosive altercation with Gabi. She went tumbling down a flight of stairs and was taken to a hospital. She made it but later collapsed again.

This recent storyline has fans wondering if the writers are preparing for an exit for Julie Olsen. But we're not that worried about Julie leaving Days of Our Lives because Hayes herself has assured us that she's here to stay for a long time.

What happened to Julie Olson on DOOL?

Julie Olson was introduced as a rebellious teenager. At first, she was in a love triangle with David Martin and her best friend, Susan, who ends up murdering David, but not before getting pregnant with his baby. Julie goes on to raise David Jr. with Scott Banning.

Julie and Doug Williams, played by her real life husband Bill Hayes, fall in love and go through many ups and down over the years. After getting married, the couple appeared only for special occasions like the final farewell to Alice Horton.

Julie Olson was first portrayed by Charla Doherty in 1965. Susan Seaforth Hayes stepped into the role in 1968 and she has been playing the character ever since. Together with her real life husband, Bill Hayes, who portrays Julie's husband Doug, they became the first supercouple in daytime history. 

Over the decades, Hayes has been nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards. In 2018, she celebrated her 50th anniversary with DOOL and won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Susan Hayes DOOL schedule until 2020

Hayes will be playing Juile Olson for a long time. The official Bill & Susan Hayes Twitter page confirmed this on August 23 in response to a curious fan. According to these tweets, Julie will be appearing on several episodes in the coming months ahead. In September, her scenes will air on the 18th, 24th, and 26th. 

She has a lot of scenes in October and a few more in November through December. The tweets reveal that we'll be seeing Julie at least until April 23, 2020.
