Was Nipsey Hussle related to Snoop Dogg?

Nipsey Hussle died from gunshot wounds on March 31 after a shooting outside his clothing store, the Marathon Clothing Company, in Los Angeles. As the news of this terrible incident broke, many artists from the music industry like Rihanna, Drake, and J. Cole paid tribute to the rapper on social media.

Hip-hop mogul Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to post several videos and photos as tribute to his longtime friendship with Hussle. This has renewed interest in the connection between them. But they do not have a family connection at all.

Nipsey Hussle was born as Ermias Davidson Asghedom on August 15, 1985 in Los Angeles. His father, who shares his name, is a native of Eritrea. Hussle has revealed that his father fled his country during the war with Ethiopia and settled in the United States.

The West Coast rappers began collaborating more than a decade ago. Although they were not related, Hussle and Snoop had a bond that went back many years. They collaborated on Upside Down on Snoop Dogg's 2009 album Malice n Wonderland. They also worked together on Question #1, Gangstas Life, Snitches Ain't... and many more.

Nipsey Hussle's memorial will be held on April 11 at the Los Angeles Staples Center. The late rapper was a dedicated Los Angeles Lakers fan and frequently attended their games.
