Did Hallmark Channel cancel When Calls the Heart?
Hallmark Channel values its wholesome reputation and being associated with someone involved in something as controversial as the biggest college scandal in history wouldn't go with the brand. So, the network has decided to cut ties with Lori Loughlin.
But don't worry Hearties! Hallmark Channel hasn't canceled When Calls the Heart and has no plans of doing so. The popular show will go on without Abigail Stanton, Lori Loughlin's character on the show. "#Hearties, we assure you that Hallmark Channel has no plans to cancel When Calls the Heart. Hope Valley has many more stories left to share and we will let you know the details soon," the channel announced on Instagram on March 15.
Hallmark has canceled Loughlin's other show, Garage Sale Mysteries, and stopped all other production featuring Lori Loughlin on the Crown Media Family Network channels. The channel revealed that they are currently "evaluating all creative options around the When Calls the Heart series."
Netflix has followed suit and announced that Loughlin won't be appearing when Fuller House returns for Season 5 this fall.
What will happen to Lori Loughlin's daughter, Olivia Jade?
Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid bribes totaling $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia and Bella, into the University of Southern California as part of the college's rowing team. It is yet unclear whether the girls knew about their parents' misdeeds, so no charges have been filed against Olivia Jade and her sister.
An insider revealed to news sources that Olivia Jade has no intentions of going back to USC. The Instagram influencer's career has also taken a hit following the scandal. Sephora revealed that they would no longer be continuing their partnership with the 19-year-old. Olivia has also lost her deals with TRESemmé and Estée Lauder.
Are Felicty Huffman and Lori Loughlin's careers over?
Former Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman was also one of the parents indicted of committing mail fraud. She is accused of paying $15,000 for the authorities to correct her daughter's answers the SATs. She was arrested by FBI agents at her home and later released on $250,000 bond.
Huffman and Loughlin will appear in court later this month to hear their fate. They could get serious jail time.
