Property Brothers - Jonathan and Drew Scott - are famous for being resourceful. They never run out of ideas on how to remodel an old home. Back in January 2019, they remodeled home for former Canadian swimmer Carol Klimpel and her husband John. During that episode, the Scott brothers revealed one thing they can not change when they remodel a house. 

Carol and her husband had bought a house near Nashville, Tennessee, for $640,000. The couple was pining for a lake house and was looking for the view of Old Hickory Lake. They had $135,000 in the budget for renovations. So the Scott brothers helped them make the most of it by delivering exactly what the clients had been pining for. 

Jonathan and Drew began by knocking off the walls that blocked the lake view when you first enter the home. They decided not to go overboard with a nautical theme. They went with engineered hardwood floors which were just perfect for the humid environment there. 

Carol and John had different ideas in their mind for the kitchen. Carol wanted to go with a cozy wraparound peninsula type while John wanted an island type. They finally decided on the island design, which left them with an extra space to put in a coffee station, as well.

The bottom line is Property Brothers remodeled a house that lived up to Carol and John’s expectations. 

Carol Klimpel Short Bio: Age, Nationality, Olympic career

Carol was born on March 30, 1963, in Toronto, Canada. She is a former freestyle swimmer and an international champion.

In 1980, Carol got an opportunity to represent her nation at the 1980 Summer Olympics, held in Moscow, Russia. But sadly, she could not participate due to the United States-led boycott. Later, in 1984, she got another opportunity to represent Canada at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and this time, she made it to the competition.

Back in 1979, she competed at the Pan American Games, held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with the women’s relay team and won a silver medal. A year earlier, she also competed at the Commonwealth Games, held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where she won gold medals in the 100-meter freestyle, 4x100-meter freestyle, and 4x100-meter medley relays.
