Alex Bozarjian is the WSA-TV reporter who has been part of the company since 2018. On Dec 7, while covering a 10km race in Savannah, Georgia. she was physically molested by a fellow Georgian runner Tommy Callaway as he smacked her backside while passing through her. This left Alex to be visibly uncomfortable and unable to process the situation as she struggled to report further.

Alex recalls it to have violated, objectified and embarrassed her and that no woman should have to put up to what just happened.

Tommy Callaway is a 43-year-old married Georgian citizen. He is the father of two children. He is a youth group leader at his church, Pittman Park UMC, and is also a Boy Scout leader.

Tommy pressed the fact that it wasn’t his intention to do the following and that he intends to “do better”. He tells the media, “I got caught up in the moment. I was getting ready to bring my hands up and wave to the camera to the audience, there was a misjudge in character and decision-making.”.

He even tried to resolve the situation by saying, “I totally agree 100 percent with her statement and the two most important words were her last two words, ‘do better.’ And that’s my intention."

According to the information gathered from his interview with the “Inside Edition”, Bozarjian has filed a “Sexual Battery “ complaint against Tommy and says he helped himself to a part of her body. She adds, “It’s not OK to help yourself to a woman’s body just because you feel like it. It’s not playful. He hurt me, both physically and emotionally,”.

What does the law have to say about Tommy’s behavior?

On Monday Joseph Turner, Tommy's lawyer issued a statement to CNN that read;

"While we regret the situation, Mr. Callaway did not act with any criminal intentions, Tommy is a loving husband and father who is very active in the community. We have been in touch with WSAV and representatives of Ms. Alex Bozarjian, as well as members of Savannah law enforcement. We do not expect any criminal charges to arise from this incident, and we are working with those involved to correct the situation."

Tommy is currently banned from future races organized by the Savannah Sports Council and no information about what charges is to be taken against him is disclosed by the police yet.
