Fan’s favorite reality show, Deadliest Catch, returned for the fifteenth season on Discovery Channel in April this year. The show has been home to many crab fishers since 2005 and this new season brought back a few old captains and crewmen such as Jonathan Hillstrand, Andy Hillstrand, Zack Larson, etc. Danny Chiu is one of the former cast members of the show, who appeared on the hit program in 2015. Danny Chiu early life bio

Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Danny Chiu began fishing at the age of 22. He experienced his first voyage, a three-month-long trip on a catcher/processor, the same year.

To Danny, his first voyage was not so pleasant and he told himself that he would never try it again. However, when he was offered a job from the same boat, he could not help but accept it. He then spent at least a decade on the Bering Sea fishing crabs. 

By the age of 36, Chiu was the oldest member on his deck with an impressive history of fishing. Sadly, his fishing career came to a halt when he found himself struggling with intoxicants which needed him to enter a rehab.

Danny Chiu caused trouble on the Time Bandit

Danny got out of the rehab after successful rehabilitation and also got his able-bodied seaman card. He also appeared on Deadliest Catch for two episodes during the 11th season. 

Danny appeared as a deckhand on the ninth and tenth episodes called Lunatic Fringe and Hells Bells, respectively.

Although Chiu claimed that he was trying to live a sober life after getting out of the rehab, his behavior on the show said something else about him. It was clear that he was in no way sober on the Time Bandit when he got out of control on the boat causing a danger to all the crews on the boat and to himself.

Danny left the show afterward and also got out of the public’s eye. He has stayed completely off the radar with zero activities on social media sites. He has been inactive on both his accounts on Facebook as well as on Twitter since leaving Deadliest Catch.

As Danny has shared previously that he desires to be a captain and own a boat, we believe that he is pursuing his dreams at present, although there isn’t any official confirmation on his current jobs.
