Tyra Banks is leaving America's Got Talent after three seasons. She will not be hosting AGT 2019. Read on to find out what happened to Tyra Banks and also find out who will host AGT 2019.

Reason Tyra Banks is leaving America's Got Talent

Tyra Banks has decided to move on from America's Got Talent. According to Page Six, the success of her Freeform movie Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve has something to do with it. The sequel to the 2000 fantasy comedy has been doing really well at the box office and has brought Tyra a slew of television offers.

"Life-Size 2 went way beyond expectations. It was Freeform's biggest premiere of the year. Executives were over the moon with the cult classic sequel," a source told the outlet.

Life-Size 2 ranked as the fourth most watched cable program on the night of its premiere - December 2. It outranked college football playoff games, Keeping up with the Kardashains, Bravo's Dirty John, and Hallmark Channel's original movie A Majestic Christmas.

The supermodel is apparently looking forward to pursue more opportunities as an actor and producer. But her departure is hardly a surprise as she hinted previously that her time on America's Got Talent was ending. In November, she spoke to Access about her AGT experience in past tense. "I think I had a really nice run with AGT," she said. "I had a lot of fun."

Banks will also not be hosting the upcoming AGT spinoff series America's Got Talent: The Champions, which premieres on January 7, 2019. Brooklyn Nine Nine's Terry Crews is set to present the seven-episode series in 2019.
