Diane Macedo is an ABC news anchor, best known for appearing on World News Now, an overnight news program she co-anchored with Kendis Gibson. A new female anchor, Janai Norman, has taken over Diane's position on WNN. If you're speculating that she's on maternity leave then you're right. She's just welcomed her first baby.
Diane Macedo and husband Thomas Morgan welcomed their first baby
Diane announced the news of her pregnancy on June 28, 2018. She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself in a body-fitting dress, placing her hand gently over her belly, with a huge sign of congratulations in the background. In the caption, she wrote, "BABY ALERT: Thrilled to announce my husband and I are expecting our first child!"
Since then she had been constantly giving updates about her pregnancy to her fans on Instagram, often sharing pictures of her more and more protruding baby belly.
Diane had not shared when her due date was but speculations were there that her baby would arrive sometime in late November. As expected, she and Thomas Morgan, her husband of five years, welcomed their baby boy on November 20, 2018.
Diane broke the news of her son's arrival via Instagram by sharing a picture of herself and the baby. She wrote a heartwarming caption as "Thanksgiving weekend gave us a lot to be thankful for. Our little boy is here! Thank you all for the love and good wishes."
Will Diane Macedo return to World News Now?
Diane joined ABC's World News Now in April 2016 as a co-anchor alongside Kendis Gibson. She remained on the show until November of 2018.
When she first left WNN, viewers suspected that she had given birth to her baby. She made it clear that it was not the case via Twitter writing, "I didn't have him yet. Almost!"
However, the reason was related to her pregnancy. She shifted to Good Morning America and ABC News Live due to WNN's scheduling problem. In a candid tweet, she let her fans know that she had been doing the morning shows to have a more consistent sleep schedule.
Now that Diane has given birth to her baby, WNN's scheduling might not be an issue anymore. Speculations are there that she might return to her former show once her maternity leave is over. However, there have been no indications of her return yet.
