In Sunday’s win game against Leeds United, Harvey Elliott suffered from a serious ankle injury. He was recklessly tackled from behind by Pascal Struijk, which got him a straight red card.
After Elliott went to the ground, Liverpool’s medical team rushed quickly towards him and took him straight to the hospital.
According to doctors, he suffered a fracture-dislocation and damaged ligaments from the accident. Two days after the incident, they did surgery which happened to be successful.
When will Harvey be back? How is his recovery going on?
On September 15, Elliott took to Instagram from hospital bed to share with his fans that his operation was successful and showed thumbs up. He added that the road to recovery starts now. But there is no official timeline when he will be back in-game.
Liverpool, however, did give a statement saying he is surely expected to feature again this season after, of course, completing his rehabilitation program with the club’s medical team.
Although it is a rough time for him as he is away from games and training, he showed an incredible and growth mindset. He is very positive about his recovery process and even sorry for the opposite team’s player, Pascal.
