Each year television shows are under the threat of getting cancelled. It's crucial that the ratings don't drop below the network's expectations but even so, some shows are cancelled because of unknown forces. So it's understandable that fans are worried about Homestead Rescue's new season in 2020.

As of now, there is no news on whether Homestead Rescue is cancelled or renewed. Discovery hasn't put out any updates on the status of the show at the moment. As of January 29, 2020, Homestead Rescue is awaiting renewal for a new season on Discovery.

Homestead Rescue is currently in its sixth season, which premiered on January 2, 2020. The first episode, titled Crisis Calls, saw the Raney family help out a dilapidated homestead in Alaska and a family from Louisiana troubled by black mold and hogs.

Like all the previous seasons, Season 6 follows the Raney family as they help struggling homesteaders across the United States learn the necessary skills to make it in the wilderness.

Mountain climber and expert homesteader, Marty Raney is joined by his daughter Misty Raney Bilodeau, a farmer, and his son, Matt Raney, who is a hunter and fisherman. The Raney family is dedicated to prepare these lost homesteaders for nature's worst.

A reality show is never safe from accusations of it being fake or scripted and Homestead Rescue is no different. Critics argue that the Discovery show is not as real as others may think. One can't help but be skeptical about the featured homesteaders on the show. Are they really living off the grid as the show suggests? Or is it just a gimmick to keep the fans interested enough in the homestead lifestyle.

You may remember the couple Kim and Josh who accused the reality show of editing a major part from their episode. The pair claimed that the show made their homestead look much worse without showing their successful farm.

What does Marty Raney think of these allegations? Well the Raney family patriarch has commented on the rumors that Homestead Rescue is fake.

Homestead Rescue Season 7 updates

In July 2017, Raney said in an interview with Fox News, "The America that I'm seeing is rural; the America that I'm seeing is farmers, ranchers, homesteaders, and those to choose to live off-the-grid, and when you think about it was that collective, that demographic, that built America, hands down, and they did it with hand tools."

In another interview, he shared, "Obviously the production people have been out there trying to procure the permits for building or whatever is needed legally. But I’ve never met those homesteaders in my life until the day I drive into the property. We meet them just as the viewer does, organically and authentically."
