The one and only daughter of Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and her husband John Bessler, was born in 1995, Abigail Klobuchar is 26 years old. Like her mother, she attended Yale University and graduated from there in 2017. Bessler now works as legislative director for Councilman Keith Powers of Manhattan’s East Side in New York City.

Her mother ( Amy Klobuchar) is an American lawyer and politician serving as United States Senator since 2007. And her father John Bessler is an American attorney and academic. He is a professor and an author. He has written ten books in total. Her parents married in 1993.

Abigail was born with a serious health condition- inability to swallow and had to be fed through a nose tube for the first three years of her life. She was sick for so long and that was a very scary moment, for her family, which is why they had only one child.

Abigail did overcome her early health issues to work in politics and media now her family does not think about that part anymore.

Unfortunately, her mother was kicked out of the hospital 24 hours after giving birth to Abigail because of the insurance policy. But the hospital also needed her to return to the hospital every 3 hours to pump breast milk. 

She would hurry back and forth to the hospital all night long but that outrage experience and trauma fueled her first political act, organizing support for Minnesota's law that ensured that new mothers and their babies could stay at the hospital for 48 hours. The law was so effective that then-President Bill Clinton made it a federal law.

She is proud of her mother’s work and following in her footsteps. Bessler was seen at plenty of events supporting her mother’s presidential campaigns. Like her mother, she also took a political path.

Bessler also said, “I’m excited about her campaign and I’m ready to help her in any way I can” in an interview.

Bessler started her career by involving in lots of organizations during her time at Yale.

She worked as editor of the Yale daily news magazine, city desk reporter of the Yale daily news, intern for American daily process, Speech writing intern for the organization West Wing Writer, policy intern on Hillary Clinton's campaign on domestic and international issues, and as an intern for CBS News and so-on.

Also when she was a student at Yale, she attempted stand-up comedy and on her first outing, won a university-wide competition.

She was the winner of Yale’s Last comic Standing competition, 2016.
