Melody Thomas Scott's status with The Young and the Restless seems to be in jeopardy as her alter-ego Nikki Newman hasn't still woke up from a coma. As Nikki is in a life-and-death condition, fans fear that this could mean the end for Nikki on the CBS sudser. But is Melody actually leaving Young and the Restless?
What happened to Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless?
The Jabot organized a holiday party and everyone joined the celebration. Everything seemed fine for Nikki until Rey and his wife Mia Rosales showed up at the party. Rey warned Nikki that he will bring Victor Newman down for his crime, along with her as an accomplice. Distressed Nikki walked her way out into the blowing snow where she was run over by Reed and Charlie accidentally.
The two young fellows could hardly see out of their frosted car windows and wondered what they hit as they kept going while Nikki lied unconscious in the snow.
Nikki has been in a coma since the incident and her prognosis has warned the family that she has less chance of survival. Dr. Nate Hastings advised Nikki's children to call all the family members home, following which Victor has also returned to check out on his wife.
Recent spoilers of Y&R tease that Nikki is in greater danger as a mysterious man drives her away from the hospital. Victor hires a man named George to move Nikki from hospital to a safer place. Dr. Nate and Nick too join Victor's plan. Spoilers report that Nate and Nick sense that they're not safe with George but unfortunately, a little too late.
Is Melody Thomas Scott leaving The Young and the Restless?
As the spoilers do not have good news for Nikki, Melody's fans fear that she is on the verge of moving on from her popular character.
Melody has been a part of The Young and the Restless since 1979 and with time, she has emerged as the matriarch of the Newman family. Now, after 39 years, if Melody decides to leave Y&R, several hearts will be broken.
Y&R writing Nikki's kidnapping hints that her death is not near, at least not in 2018. We speculate that Y&R has more storyline for the Newman matriarch in the future and that viewers have more time to enjoy her scenes on the soap. Melody has not shared any words about her status with the soap so far.
