Daniel Bernard Sweeney is an American actor, who is currently a narrator on the History channel's reality show, Mountain Men. He has been narrating the show since it premiered on May 31, 2012. D. B. Sweeney wanted to become a professional baseball player in young age

D. B. Sweeney was born on November 14, 1961, in Shoreham, New York. He was born to an educator father and a municipal government worker mother. 

He went to Shoreham-Wading River High School. Initially, he attended Tulane University and later got a bachelor's degree in drama from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 1985.

When Sweeney was in college, he wanted to become a professional baseball player. He gave up on his dreams after a motorcycle accident put an end to his potential sports career. It was when he discovered his love for drama and began working on pursuing a career in this field.

Before breaking through as an actor, he worked in construction, drove cabs, and cooked in different restaurants. His love for cooking can still be witnessed on his Instagram where he has shared numerous mouth-watering food pictures. 

On his Instagram, he has also shared pictures of his beautiful family. Sweeney is a married man with two children. He has been married to wife Ashley Vachon for more than 18 years; they got married in April 2000. The couple is parents to a son named Cade and a daughter named Cody. 

D. B. Sweeney is more than just an actor

Sweeney made his television debut in October 1985, playing the role of Mike on the TV film, Out of the Darkness. He appeared in an episode of Spenser: For Hire in December of that year. In the later years, Sweeney went on to get sizable roles in various films like The Edge of Night, Gardens of Stone, Memphis Belle, Fire in the Sky, The Cutting Edge, Eight Men Out, and Lonesome Dove, to name a few.

He landed the role of Levitt in an upcoming sci-fi thriller film, Captive State, in 2016. Initially, the movie was scheduled to release in August 2018. The release date was later rescheduled as March 29, 2019.

Sweeney has numerous voice-over gigs under his belt. He is a voice-over artist for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and was a narrator for Beyond the Glory and Ice Pilots. He also voiced adult Avatar Aang in The Legend of Korra and is currently a narrator on Mountain Men. Moreover, he was a director, producer, and writer of a 2006's film called Two Tickets to Paradise.

Sweeney's net worth has not been disclosed but a few sources have reported that he is worth $2.6 million.
