Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott are identical twin brothers. The two have become household names in the television industry. Thanks to Property Brothers, a show the Scott brothers have been co-hosting since 2011. Drew is a real estate expert while Jonathan is a licensed contractor, and together they make one of the best pairs on Canadian real estate business. 

Where is Property Brothers filming in 2019?

Property Brothers was created in 2011 by Cineflix. The production company initially named the show My Dream Home and wanted Drew to co-host the show alongside a female host. When the producers learned that Drew has a brother in real estate, they decided to give the Scott brothers a chance and asked them to make a sizzle reel. 

Six months later, Cineflix hired the brothers and began filming the pilot for the show in Toronto. Another six months passed by before the show booked a distributor. W Network first ordered a full season. After noticing the success of the show, HGTV chose to air the show on a trial basis and by far, it has been the best decision of the network. The show went on to score number-one ratings for its timeslot, following which the network decided to distribute the show in the USA as well. 

The success of Property Brothers has led to numerous spin-offs like Buying and Selling, Brother vs. Brother, Property Brothers: At Home, Property Brothers: At Home on the Ranch, Brothers Take New Orleans, Property Brothers at Home: Drew’s Honeymoon House, and Property Brothers: Linda & Drew Say I Do. 

The brothers work on various properties located in different cities. The locations are selected by the show’s producers based on various factors, including the taste of fans. The show’s earliest episodes were filmed in Toronto, Ontario. For Season 3, the show was filmed in Austin, Texas, for seven episodes. According to reports, the show decided to move to the USA as the American audiences could not relate to Canada’s higher market prices.

In 2013, the show was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, which is the Scott brothers’ hometown. Then in 2014, the show was filmed partly in Toronto and in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2015 and 2016, the show was majorly filmed in Westchester County, New York. Likewise, the filming was shared between Nashville, Tennessee, and Toronto, in 2017. And lately, the show was filmed in Nashville, and Calgary, Alberta.

HGTV signed a multi-year contract with Drew and Jonathan Scott in early 2018. The show began filming its new season in Las Vegas in January this year.
