What happened to Bre Payton?

Bre Payton died on December 28, 2018 after a brief and sudden illness.  Payton's good friend, Morgan Murtaugh reported the news on Twitter. She was reportedly the one who found Payton unconscious in her room on Thursday morning. She rushed Payton to a San Diego hospital for treatment. Payton was diagnosed with swine flu after hours of testing. 

The exact cause of Payton's death have not been revealed yet. But according to a website set up by her family, the doctors revealed that she had the H1N1 flu and meningitis. 

What happened to Bre Payton?

"She found her illness with strength but, passed on December 28th, 2018. She will be survived by her four siblings and parents. She fought strong and lived a life worth noting in the books. We are so incredibly honored to have known this wonderful human being," the website reads.

Payton remained in the intensive care unit on Thursday but her condition worsened on Friday.  On December 28, Murtaugh wrote on Twitter, "Thank you everyone for your prayers. It is with a heavy heart that I type this. Unfortunately Bre has passed. Please send prayers to her family. Rest in paradise you beautiful soul."

Bre Payton was born on June 8th, 1992 in California as one of four children to Cindy and George Payton. She has two brothers; James and Jack and two sisters; Christina and Cheekie.  She received her high school diploma from the Western Christian High School Private Satellite Program and later went to Citrus Community College for two years. She was dating Ryan Colby, a media relations professional. The couple regularly attended conservative political events together in Washington, DC.
