Why did Thorne Forrester (Ingo Rademacher) leave The Bold and the Beautiful?

Actor Ingo Rademacher recently exited The Bold and the Beautiful. He said goodbye to his famous character, Thorne Forrester, on Valentine’s day. The exit came after months of rumors swirling that Ingo was off contract on B&B.

Ingo is the latest actor to play Thorne Forrester on Bold and the Beautiful. The character was originated by actor Clayton Norcross in 1987. In 1989, Jeff Trachta took over the role. Then in 1996, Winsor Harmon got recast as Thorne. It has only been a couple years since Ingo took over the role on B&B. Before landing the role on B&B, Ingo appeared as a series regular on General Hospital.

On December 23, 2018, Ingo took to Instagram to disclose his status with Bold and the Beautiful. In a lengthy post, he confirmed his fans that what they’ve been hearing is true. 

He wrote, “It is true what you are hearing and I think it’s time to set the record straight.” Rademacher continued, “I have decided to not continue with my contract on The Bold and The Beautiful and I’ll be finishing up my last episodes in January.”

In the same post, he thanked Bradley Bell, B&B’s head writer, and the entire B&B team and the network. “I want to thank Brad Bell( we’ve been communicating) the entire show and cast (truly awesome people) and also CBS for a fun year of playing Thorne,” he wrote.

Ingo completed taping his final seasons in January 2019 and made his final appearance on February 14, 2019. He shared his last scenes with his on-screen wife Heather Tom (portrayer of Katie Logan). 

When will Ingo Rademacher (Thorne Forrester) return to Bold and the Beautiful?

Fans began speculating that Ingo was on the verge of leaving Bold and the Beautiful way before the actor opened up about his decision. 

The actor and his family had moved to LA for him to accept the contract on B&B. From some months ago, Rademacher has been sharing a lot of pics of him and his family in Hawaii. His Instagram profile is filled with the pictures of the island, which he calls his home now.

In late October, he shared on Instagram that he’s glad to be back home. Then in December, he shared a little more detail. On the post where he confirmed his exit, Ingo also stated that he was in Hawaii to work on his property. Reportedly, he and his wife, Ehiku Kaono, co-own an activewear store in Hawaii.

He wrote, “Yes I have been in Hawaii for the last 2 month with my family working on my property and will continue to stay here throughout January but then it’s back to LA.”

He assured the fans that he is leaving the soap on good terms and with the possibility of a return. This means Ingo may begin filming for The Bold and the Beautiful once he is back to LA.
