Valerie Spencer leaving General Hospital

Valerie Spencer won't be seen in Salem no more. Brytni Sarpy, who portrays Valerie Spencer, is leaving the soap opera to join another daytime series. The last time we saw Valerie was when Kristina tried to kiss her. Valerie freaked out and told Kristina that she wasn't into girls. Unfortunately, this wasn't fully explained further. 

Some fans seem to think that Valerie Spencer is going to be one of the victims of the serial killer that's loose on Salem. The writers are going to have to write off Valerie in some way and this seems to be a logical explanation for her exit.

Brytni Sarpy joining Young and the Restless cast

Brytni Sarpy is set to join the cast of Young and the Restless in 2019. According to an insider, she is heading to Genoa City for a contract role. She will portray a new character in town named Elena Dawson.

There aren't many details yet about the new character but she will have scenes with more than a few major players in Young and the Restless. Is she going to be introduced as a new love interest for someone on Young and the Restless? Perhaps Devon?

The actress will start filming for Young and the Restless in February. The soap had a shakeup in the writers room recently, with headwriter Mal Young leaving the show. Executive producer Josh Griffith is currently at the helm of the show and Brytni Sarpy's character is definitely a part of Josh Griffith's storylines.
