The Brown family from Alaskan Bush People is shaken to the core after Billy Brown’s recent health scare. Just when they thought that they might be out of the woods, they are once again up against some hard times as the head of their family is having some issues with his health again. Read on to find out what actually happened to this dad from Alaskan Bush People.

Billy Brown was taken to the hospital after facing problems with breathing

Recently, on March 23, Alaskan Bush People revealed via its official Twitter that Billy’s health was not at its best condition. The show shared a video showing Billy coughing and struggling to breathe, following which his children entered his camper and requested the cameraman to stop shooting.

A voice from inside said “Please… Please, no camera. Please, not right now “ and one of the family members closed the door on the cameraman.

It was stated in the video that Billy struggled to breathe all night. Then the family matriarch, Ami Brown, told their kids that Billy collapsed attempting to exit the camper.

Although the cameras were not allowed inside the camper, the cameraman continued to film the scene from outside it, which showed Billy sitting at the table and his family surrounding him.

Billy said, “I can't get enough air. It just kept getting worse and worse and... It's starting to freak me out."

Talking to the cameras later, the family’s youngest member, Rainy Brown said, “It's definitely scary to see Dad the way he is. All of a sudden, like, he can't catch his breath.”

Ami suggests the family that they might have to take Billy to the hospital and he nods in agreement. Rainy adds, “If dad is saying he needs to go to the hospital and he's going to go down the mountain, that means it's serious. He thinks there is something really wrong."

The family tried to help Billy walk out of the camper to the vehicle but Billy insisted that he could walk on his own. He then walked to the vehicle and went to the hospital.

The clip then showed Billy’s fourth son, Gabe, talking about the situation. He said, “All of our minds are racing with, like, what could be wrong. Just having gotten out of some serious health stuff with mom, now dad going to the doctor."

The family matriarch, Ami Brown, was diagnosed with advanced cancer in the lungs in April 2017. The doctors had warned the family that Ami had only a 3 percent chance of survival. Luckily, this 3 percent proved to be enough for the 55-year-old mother and was recently declared cancer free.

Talking of Billy’s hospital stay, a source close to the family later told Radar, “Billy has been a rock for his family and it's been a hard year. He always put them first but right now he must focus on his own health and making sure he is okay so that he can continue to be there for them.”

Billy Brown was hospitalized back in October 2018 as well

The Brown family head seems to have health issues for quite some time now. Last year, in October, he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection.

His son, Bear Brown, took to Instagram to share with fans that he was at the hospital with his dad and that he had not been in a good shape that past week. The shocking news came soon after Billy’s eldest son, Matt Brown, headed to rehab for the second time.

However, this was not the first time that Billy experienced a health scare on camera. Billy is prone to seizures and once in December 2015, the Discovery Channel series showed one of such moments.

Billy’s son, Bam Bam, later explained to viewers about his seizures as, “To put it bluntly, Dad just had a seizure is what happened. Every now and then, he weirds out, gets all dingy, he has a seizure.”

Later that year, it was reported that Billy has been experiencing seizures ever since he woke up from a coma in 2008 and that he was undergoing tests to figure out the cause of his seizures.

Reflecting on the time he went to a coma, Billy told Radar, “Everything shut down - my kidneys, my lungs. My brain swelled to like 75 percent. They literally thought that I would be child-like if I did wake up.”

“It was really bad thing that we’ve been fighting for almost ten years now. To be honest, everything is really up in the air right now. We just don’t know. We’re doing a lot of praying right now and hoping that we can continue our lifestyle," Billy added.

We send our prayers to Billy for his swift recovery.
