Fans are curious to know what happened to Blue Mountain State on Netflix and if there is a new season (Season 4) in the making. Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Blue Mountain State has been removed from Netflix in 2019. What happened to Blue Mountain State on Netflix? Is there a Season 4?

If you're a real Blue Mountain State fan, you've probably re-watched all three seasons of the show on Netflix. Sadly, you won't be able to watch your favorite show on Netflix from now on. In March 2019, it was reported that Blue Mountain State would be leaving the streaming service by the start of April. All three seasons of the show have been dropped from the website.

The original show premiered on Spike (Paramount Network) in 2010. It ran for three seasons and was canceled in 2011. Now, Netflix is known to be a savoir of canceled series and a new home for reboots. So, fans banded together to create a petition on change.org for Netflix to pick up Blue Mountain State Season 4. However, we haven't heard the good news until now. 

Following the show's cancellation, fans were able to raise enough money on a Kickstarter campaign to make a film. The campaign raised $1.5 million, which made the release of Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland possible in 2016. 

Why was Blue Mountain State cancelled?

It was announced in early 2012 that Blue Mountain State had been cancelled. The last episodes of the series were aired on November 30, 2011.

While it was reported that the show was canceled because of a decline in ratings, show producer Eric Falconer had a different opinion. “BMS wasn’t cancelled because of a drop in ratings. Season 3 was actually up 20% + in all male demographics vs S2. It was a budget issue," he tweeted on February 20, 2012.

Although it's been a good few years since Blue Mountain State went off air, fans would still be delighted to have a Season 4...possibly on Netflix!
