What happened to Neil Winters on Y&R?
Neil Winters's death was mentioned on the April 23 episode and a day later, Dr. Nate Hastings revealed the cause of death.
In a conversation with Lily Winters, he said, "From everything I've seen and heard, it sounds like massive stroke. It's possible he had high blood pressure and never even knew. That's why they call it the silent killer."
Devon finds Neil and is seen coming down the stairs crying. He shares the terrible news with other characters at the end of the episode.
In real life, Kristoff St. John's cause of death was revealed to be hypertrophic heart disease. He passed away on February 3 at the age of 52.

Malcolm and Drucilla Winters return for tribute episode

After the death was confirmed, several former characters who were close to Neil returned on the show to pay their respects. Shemar Moore, who plays Malcolm Winters, appeared on April 25 and 26.
Moore is also returning for the special tribute to Kristoff St. John on April 29. He will be joined by Victoria Rowell, who portrayed Neil's longtime lover, Drucilla Winters. Dru was killed off in 2007 after an altercation with Phyllis. She had a complicated relationship with Neil Winters.
Eileen Davidson, Devon Hamilton, and Mishael Morgan are also set to appear for the tribute episode, that will commemorate Kristoff St. John's legacy.
