Kendis Gibson has started his new job as a weekend anchor on MSNBC Live. He started his new job on Saturday, January 19. The former ABC World News Now anchor will be anchoring the 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. hours on the network on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Gibson shared his first day at his new job with his fans on Instagram. On January 19, he posted this photo with GMA executive producer John Ferracane, ABC News correspondent Linzie Janis and NBC News anchor Jummy Olabanji. He captioned the photo, "It's been that kinds ex abc'er, current nbc'er and former wjla'er week."
Kendis Gibson short bio
Kendis Gibson was born on September 6, 1972 in Belize. He graduated with a degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1994. He began his career at NBC in Rochester, New York. In 2002, he began appearing on CNN as an entertainment anchor.
Gibson had joined the early morning time slot on ABC in 2014. Before that, he was working at WJLA-TV. He has worked for CBS News, CNN, HLN and ABC News. He has won two Emmy Awards and covered major events like the 9/11 attacks, the Academy Awards, the FIFA scandal in Switzerland and the Santa Barbara oil spill to name a few.
Kendis Gibson replacement
Fellow ABC anchor Kenneth Moton joined ABC World News Now as Kendis Gibson's replacement in December 2018. He was previously on the 6abc Action News team and worked as a general assignment reporter at WFTV in Orlando, Florida.
Moton is accompanied by co-anchor Janai Norman. She joined World News Now in November 2018, replacing Diane Macedo. Macedo hosted the morning show alongside Kendis Gibson from April 2016 to November 2018.
