The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Jones recently came forward about her abusive marriage. She has filed divorce from her husband, Joel Henricks, after successfully filing a restraining order against him. The former couple are parents to a son, Hayden. Who is Joel Henricks? Know Ashley Jones' ex husband

Joel Henricks and Ashley Jones got married in 2016. He works as a senior platform engineer at Walt Disney Imagineering. He previously worked as Senior Network Engineer at Disneytoon Studios from March 2016 to 2018. According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Henricks was once married before tying the knot with Ashley Jones. He has a son named Huck, who is now 7, from his first marriage. According to the court documents filed by Jones, Henricks' ex wife also filed a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) against him after he showed up drunk to pick up their son. 

Henricks is the father of Jones' son, Hayden, who was born on May 24, 2016. The former couple shared the pregnancy news exclusively to PEOPLE in March of that year. 

Ashley Jones details abuse from husband

Ashley Jones claims that Henricks has been physically abusing her. In her statement, she alleges that Joel abused her for many years and it started before they were even married.  Jones has shared some horrifying details about her marriage to Joel.

On one occasion in 2016, Joel got physical with her trying to snatch her cell phone from her.  After the incident, Jones tried to leave with her son but Joel convinced her that it would never happen again.

She filed for divorce on September 6, a week after she was granted a restraining order against her husband.

In the restraining order obtained by PEOPLE, Jones claims that Henricks became more abusive after their marriage. “He calls me a wh*re and accused me of infidelity regularly, and been incredibly jealous of long-ago boyfriends with whom I have no contact,” Jones alleges in the restraining order filings.

In 2017, Henricks allegedly caused Jones to have a spinal fracture in her hand, which required surgery. She exposed Henricks as a substance abuser and an alcoholic, writing that he would even drive with an  “open container in his drink holder even while leaving work.”

Jones also revealed that Henricks became suicidal after drinking and using drugs. In July 2018, she found Joel with a belt around his neck. "He said he did not want to live. He had continued to drink heavily and to abuse prescription medication," she said. 

On the night of August 16, Joel accused her of cheating on him again. She left with Hayden the next morning. According to Jones, Joel continued to stalk and harass her after she left. Joel has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Jones and their son.
