Why did Chelsea Peretti leave Brooklyn Nine Nine?

Chelsea Peretti announced her decision to leave the Nine Nine back in October 2018. "I won't be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6," wrote the actress on her Twitter. She revealed that she will definitely be back for some scenes later in the season.

In a more recent interview with TVLine, Peretti said that it wasn't entirely her decision to leave the show. "It's hard to get into the weeds of what exactly transpired and how it all shook out, but it kind of came together to be this timing that presented itself. So I kind of knew that it was going to be happening for a while."

Is Chelsea Peretti returning to Brooklyn Nine Nine?

Although we won't be seeing Gina Linetti as much as we'd like, she'll still pop up in Season 6. Peretti has confirmed that she will be appearing in at least one more episode in the season.

When asked about how often can fans expect to see her, the actress said this - "The story for Gina is pretty funny. In terms of other episodes, contractually, I don't think there's anything else required of anyone. So I don't know if it'll happen or not. It depends on what happens in the writers' room.
