Danny Masterson played the role of Jameson "Rooster" Bennett on The Ranch until the first half of season 3 (part 5), following which he was fired from the show. The controversial exit arrived soon after Masterson was accused of some serious allegations by multiple women. The Ranch wrapped up his story during the second installment of season 3.
The actual reason why Rooster is not in part 6 of The Ranch
Danny was fired from The Ranch on December 5, 2017, during the filming of season 3 after five women accused the star of raping them in the early 2000s. Four women had come forward with the allegation in March 2017 while the last one, who is also his ex-girlfriend, accused him in December 2017.
Moreover, singer/lyricist Cedric Bixler-Zavala accused him of raping his wife as well. The At The Drive-In vocalist stated in November 2017 that his band's song, Incurably Innocent, is about the incident.
The accusations not only got him fired from The Ranch but also from his longtime talent agency, United Talent Agency. Subsequently, he was written out of the show, with his character falling off a cliff while driving a motorcycle.
After Netflix terminated his contract, Masterson released a statement expressing his disappointment with the network. He wrote, "I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix's decision to write my character off of The Ranch." "From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit," he added.
Danny further said, "In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all."
Danny later showed his support for The Ranch via Instagram despite not being a cast member anymore.
Is Rooster coming back to The Ranch? Is he alive on the show?
Rooster was threatened at gunpoint to leave town in the finale of part 5. In the second episode of part 6, Beau Bennett (Rooster's father) got a call that Rooster's motorcycle was discovered at the bottom of a cliff. Apparently, he went over the guardrail from riding too fast. His motorcycle was retrieved but his body was nowhere to be found.
Rooster's brother, Colt, initially, was in denial that he was dead and denied to attend his funeral. But eventually, he arrived at the funeral and shared loving words for Rooster.
While Rooster has been presumed dead, they have not discovered his body yet. So we can not confirm that he is actually dead. Perhaps, the door is still open for Rooster's return.
