What happened to Mal Young?
Mal Young's reign on the Young and the Restless has come to an end after two years. Fans have been long awaiting his departure as his direction on the show hasn't been sitting well with them.
Fans were complaining that Young has been ruining the show's legacy by putting the veteran actors like Eric Braeden and Eileen Davidson on the sidelines. But it was Doug Davidson's exit from the show was the tipping point.
Mal Young spoke to Showbiz411 about his departure from the show. He seemed to deny that he was fired and said that he "felt like it was a good time to move on." He shared that working on Young and the Restless was "all consuming."
He further explained, "It's never a good idea to get too settled at a long running soap and I achieved all that I and CBS set out to do: improved scripts and production values. I have a project of my own that I've been developing and want to pursue that now."
