What happened to Pop Smoke?
Pop Smoke has passed away at age 20. According to TMZ, he was at a home in the Hollywood Hills when two men wearing hoddies and masks broke in. Multiple shots were fired after which the men fled on foot.
The rapper was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The suspects have not yet been arrested and still remain unidentified. According to the police, one man was handcuffed but was later released after they determined that he was not involved in Pop Smoke's death.
Pop Smoke blew up after Welcome to the Party
Pop Smoke released his mixtape, Meet the Woo, in July 2019. His song, Welcome to the Party, which was released in April 2019, put him on the map and it was one of the most popular songs of the summer. Nicki Minaj released a remix of Welcome to the Party.
Pop Smoke is also known for his song, Gatti, which featured Travis Scott. He has also collaborated with artists like Lil Tjay, Calboy, Quavo, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.
