She is an auto expert as well as a home DIYer, who is filled with passion for working on everything from cars to home renovation projects, which makes her a perfect fit to become a co-host of the all-female car show, All Girls Garage. Rachel De Barros Early Life Bio: Age, Parents, Education

Rachel was born on August 4, 1978. She was born to Brazilian parents and was raised in Washington, D.C. 

She developed an interest in working on hardware and mechanics watching her father worked as a circuit repairman. She also got inspired by her uncle, who owned an auto body fix shop. She was introduced to bodywork and paint while helping out her uncle at his collision shop.

She pursued her dream and completed her education simultaneously. She went to college to pursue a degree in marketing. Intending to save herself some money for her education, she used to repair her car by herself. 

This ultimately turned out to be her first business with students being the majority of her customers, who found it convenient to have her come to their residences to fix their cars. She went on to launch her own boutique design and interactive marketing company called Purple Star Media. Meanwhile, she continued to learn the various technical skill set by completing the Automotive Training & Repair Program at the Philadelphia Automotive Training School.

Rachel De Barros is set to appear on Fast N’ Loud in the months ahead

What started as a hobby led Rachel to an automotive TV program hosting opportunity. She became the host of All Girls Garage on the Motor Trend channel (now Velocity). She joined the show in 2014 after Jessi Combs left. And after all these years, she now appears on various news segments on the network as an automotive expert with an amazing knowledge of DIY. 

She has also been showcasing her skills via her channel on YouTube, Wonder Spawn, which has over 23K subscribers.

On April 29, 2019, Gas Monkey Garage owner Richard Rawlings took to Instagram to announce that Rachel would be joining him and his team for the new season. He wrote, “I’m a fan of all girls, I mean All Girls Garage! Looks like we might have ourselves a new monkey @rachel_debarros joining us.” He added, “Stay tuned Fast N’ Loud is coming back in a big way this July. #GasMonkeyGarage #GasMonkey #AllGirlsGarage #FastNLoud”
