The American journalist Emily Dwire has worked as both assignment reporter and news anchor at WOWT-TV. Despite having an incredible job and supportive co-workers at WOWT, she has left the station. Emily is a Fort Wayne native-born in 1990. Therefore, she is 31 years old. She pursued a bachelor of arts degree in Telecommunication from Ball State University in 2012. She started to work as a journalist in 2015. Before that, she was a producer and production assistant. 

When she is not working, she likes to spend time with her family and typically longs for the beach with her husband. Emily is also a big foodie. She mostly craves tacos or pasta and prefers to watch horror movies.

Emily got married on September 21, 2019, in her homeland Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her lovely husband, Rex Smith, proposed to her in 2018 when they went to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Emily has worked at WPTA and WOWT news. She worked for WPTA for seven years, as a morning and noon anchor, as well as producer. After that, in late 2019 she started to work at WOWT news where she anchored the weekend evening newscasts and reported on general assignments during the week.

Nexstar’s CBS affiliate WANE-15 has hired Emily Dwire as of now. The network has officially announced Dwire as their new weekday morning anchor. After working for WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, she returned to her home, Northeast Indiana for this new job. 

Emily had to replace Alyssa Invasion, who was recently promoted to evening anchor at WANE-15’s First at Five, News at 6, and Night cast at 11. 

The news director of WANE-15 said that Emily’s personality is perfect for First News while the vice president and general manager also added that a talented journalist like her is a fantastic addition to the station.
