Nazanin Mandi is the newest face to join the long-running CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Here’s more about Nazanin which you probably did not know before.

Nazanin Mandi Early Life Bio: Parents, Ethnicity, Nationality

Nazanin was born on September 11, 1986, in Valencia, California. She was born to a Mexica-American mother and an Iranian father. 

She discovered her love for singing and dancing at a very young age. She was only two when her parents discovered that she had an amazing singing and dancing abilities. 

Eventually, she stepped into the modeling industry at just age 10 and was already performing at Carnegie Hall by the time she turned 15. 

The Young and the Restless marks the beautiful talent’s daytime debut. However, this isn’t the first time she’s appearing on television. She made her debut with That’s So Raven and has appeared in various reality shows like Next Big Star, American Idol (2002) and How to Make a Reality Star. She was also a series regular on Rock Star Academy. 

You can expect to see Nazanin in a few upcoming films like The Last Conception and Dreamcatcher.

Nazanin Mandi announced the news of joining Y&R via Instagram

On April 6, 2019, Nazanin took to Instagram to share a picture of herself at the Y&R studio. She explained on the caption that she has landed a role on this iconic show. 

“Honestly, I can’t believe I’m writing this .... You can now Catch me on @youngandrestlesscbs,” she wrote. But she did not reveal what role she will be playing. 

Nazanin’s post made it clear that she has been a fan of this show for a long time. She wrote, “For those of you that checkout my Stories on the daily back in December I snapped a video of this iconic show and said I’m gonna be on it one day ... & well look at God.” 

While Nazanin’s post did excite a lot of fans, it also led some viewers to worry about the show’s long-time star Christel Khalil (Lily Ashby). Nazanin is a dead ringer for Khalil, which had fans wondering if Y&R was planning to recast Lily Ashby with Nazanin.

On May 9, Nazanin shared yet another post on Instagram which showed her in the Y&R studio again. She wrote, “I’m so excited to announce you can catch me on @youngandrestlesscbs starting THIS FRIDAY MAY 10TH!” 

She made it clear that her first episode was set to air on May 10 but she still did not reveal what character she would be playing. She wrote, “Set your DVRs and check your local listings. Oh, and one more thing… if anyone can guess the type of character I’ll be playing, I’ll be more than happy to follow you back. It’s a hard one!”

May 10th’s episode finally revealed her character. She has landed the role of her own name, Nazanin, an internet influencer, who seems to have the power to both help or hurt Abby, Devon and Lola’s new endeavor, Society.

Nazanin Mandi is married to singer Miguel Jontel Pimentel

Nazanin began dating singer Miguel in 2005. They were both 18 years old and Nazanin was interviewing Miguel when they first met. 

Nazanin explained their first meeting to Vogue as “I asked him a question that wasn’t on my Q&A, which was: ‘All the ladies want to know, do you have a girlfriend?’ And he smiled and said, ‘No, but I’m looking for one.’ We exchanged numbers, and he called me the next day to ask me out on a date . . . and ever since then, it’s been one hell of a ride!”

She became engaged to her long-term boyfriend in January of 2016. The couple finally exchanged their wedding vows last year on November 24, 2018. Their wedding was held at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California.
