Rod Wave was born on August 27, 1999, in St. Petersburg, Florida. His real name is Rodarius Marcell Green.

Reportedly, his father has spent time in jail which is why he wanted Rod Wave to live a decent life without legal troubles. This led Rod’s father to turn him to music.

Rod Wave was twice arrested in the past

Like his father, Rod has had a few run-ins with the law in the past. Reportedly, he was arrested at least twice but he has not spent any time in prison.

Rod was arrested for the first time in January of 2017 at age 17. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office records state that he was charged with felony possession of a weapon a school property. 

He was arrested again in March 2018 for carrying a concealed weapon and he was released without having to post bail again. 

There is not any news of Rod’s legal issues as of late which suggests that he is serious about his career. It looks like he is not going to let his father down because as an ex-prisoner his father wanted to save him from prison life and thought music was the best way to do it.
