Soap opera veterans Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley are set to return to Days of Our Lives soon in the months ahead. It’s needless to introduce these actors to the longtime viewers of Days as they have been on the show since the early 80s.

Although Thaao and Leann aren’t currently appearing on Days or any other soaps, both the actors made it to the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards, which was held on May 5, 2019, in Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Pasadena, California.

Later, Thaoo took to Instagram to share a picture of himself and his co-star, along with which he revealed the big news. 

“Thank you all from Leann & myself for your continued support. We had a great time celebrating Days & it’s nominees,” Thaao wrote in the caption. “You will see us on the screen in July. But is it Tony or Andre?” he added. 

Thaao debuted on Days on November 6, 1981, playing the role of Tony Dimera. In 1983, Tony’s imposter, Andre, was introduced. This character was also played by Thaao himself. 

Over the years, both these characters have made recurring appearances on the soap. But the question is which character will he be playing this time.

Tony died in 2009 while Andre died in 2018. Both these characters were last seen on the Days canvas in March this year when Marlena had the vision of familiar faces during a near-death experience. 

It remains a secret what role would Thaao bring in this time as the soap has decided not to announce it beforehand.

Meanwhile, it’s quite easy to bring Leann’s character, Anna Dimera, back onto the canvas. Anna was last seen in Salem in February 2018.
