The Young and the Restless’ Genoa City is ready to welcome a new member. The long-running CBS soap recently announced the appointment of actor Tyler Johnson in the role of Theo Vanderway. Read on to know more about this new hunk and details of his first airdate.

On May 3, 2019, SoapCentral announced that Y&R has hired Tyler Johnson in the role of Theo Vanderway. The actor then took to Instagram to share the write-up by SoapCentral to confirm the news. 

“Feeling blessed. Thankful to join the @youngandrestlesscbs family. hope you enjoy,” Tyler wrote in the caption.

A couple of days later, he shared a picture of himself from the CBS Emmy party and went on to describe his feelings with his followers. He wrote, “Couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the @youngandrestlesscbs family. Thank you @angelica_mcd @nancynayor @greg.salmon.31 @Marty kane1 and everyone else involved @cbsdaytime (I have so many more thanks to make, these are just a few)”

According to his latest post, he will be making his first appearance on the Y&R canvas on Monday, June 3 this year. He will be playing the role of Theo, a colleague of Kyle Abbott from New York and a manager of social media influencers. 

Y&R is yet to reveal any information about the type of drama Theo will be bringing to Genoa City. Speculations are there that he may be the new love interest for Summer, who has been a little upset with her husband lately.

Viewers might have noticed that Tyler’s character, Theo Vanderway, made his first appearance on Y&R on May 9th’s episode. The role was played by actor Nic Luken. Tyler is going to take over in less than a month.

Although Y&R marks the debut for Tyler in the daytime world, he may already be known to a lot of viewers as he has appeared in several hit shows in the past. He is mostly renowned for his role on Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, The Haunting of Sharon Tate, White Collar, and Matchmaker’s Playbook. He is renowned for appearing on 2017’s film, Afterburn/Aftershock.
