The Young and the Restless has been going through a major talent shuffle lately, as a result of which viewers won’t be seeing their favorites like Gina Tognoni, Jason Canela and Noemi Gonzalez in the future episodes. Meanwhile, the hit CBS soap is casting many new characters. Read on to find out who the new cast members are.
Young and the Restless’ cast updates in May 2019
Y&R viewers saw the most number of cast changes this month, starting with the week of May 6. In this week, firstly, on May 9’s episode, Nashville star Nic Luken made his debut. He appeared in the role of Theo Vanderway, the friend of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) from New York.
Spoilers tease that Theo will be a part of an interesting storyline, which will include his friend’s wife, Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King). Perhaps he could become the new love interest of Summer, who has been having some issues with Kyle lately.

While it looks like Theo will be in Genoa City for a while, we will not see Luken in the role for a long time. Nic is set to leave in less than a month, following which Gossip Girl star Tyler Johnson will take over the role.
Tyler announced the news via his official Instagram handle and announced that he would be making his first appearance on June 3 this year.
On May 10, two stars made their debut - actress Tina Casciani as Riza Thomas and Instagram influencer Nazanin Mandi as herself.

The following week, Y&R featured the most awaited return of Adam Newman. The character, which was last seen in 2016, was last portrayed by Justin Hartley. Adam is now played by Famous In Love actor Mark Grossman.
Viewers will remember, Adam was considered to be dead after Chloe (portrayed by Elizabeth Hendrickson) caused an explosion to kill him. She wanted revenge for her dead daughter Delia Abbott, whom Adam had run over accidentally. Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) left town with Chloe and their daughter Bella after the revelation.
Where is Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) now in 2019?
In the heels of Adam’s return, Y&R is planning the return of Chloe and Kevin as well. While Rikaart recently wrapped up his stint on Days of Our Lives, it looks like Hendrickson will pull double duty on Y&R and General Hospital. However, their return dates have not been announced yet.
Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Adam’s wife Chelsea would be returning soon too. Viewers can expect to see the same old Melissa Claire Egan in the role of Chelsea.
Most recently, on May 20, viewers saw Mark Taylor make his debut as Detective Eddie North. In the following episode, Kristen Carey joined the storyline as Claire Smith.
The Rosales family’s matriarch will arrive in June this year
Both Jason Canela and Noemi Gonzalez taped their last scenes for Young and the Restless as Arturo Rosales and Mia Rosales, respectively, on April 15.
Their departure will cause the smallest family on the soap to grow even smaller. But the remaining members - Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Lola (Sasha Calle) - won’t be alone in town for too long as they are set to welcome their mother in the upcoming episodes.
Y&R has announced that the Rosales family matriarch, Celeste Rosales, will be joining the family on Wednesday, June 26, this year. This will take place after the exit of Arturo and Mia. However, their last airdates have not been announced yet.
